Meet the Team - Get to Know Lehtovuori's Trusted Logistics Experts, Lasse and Petri!

Lehtovuori – Finbin's logistics department operates with a permanent team of four, and today, two of them, Lasse Grönfelt and Petri Marjamäki, share insights into the daily logistics operations at our factory located in Ylöjärvi, Finland. They are responsible for overseeing both incoming and outgoing goods, a vital aspect of the company's daily functioning. As true multitaskers in their roles, they ensure the smooth and efficient running of the company’s operations every day.

Lasse has been with the company for four years and brings over ten years of experience in the logistics field. His workdays involve organizing transport orders for finished shipments, packing products, loading vehicles, and other logistics tasks. Additionally, Lasse is working towards a Professional Qualification in Service Logistics alongside his job, reflecting his desire for continuous development. His colleagues describe him as a “hard-working” individual.

Petri’s path into logistics started somewhat by accident when he came across a logistics training program and decided to give it a try – and he hasn’t looked back since! Now, with 15 years of experience in various logistics roles, including four years at Lehtovuori, Petri’s days are filled with receiving incoming goods, shelving items, and collecting materials for the paint shop. He describes his workdays as hectic, with a large portion of his time spent organizing and coordinating different logistics operations.

Both Lasse and Petri’s roles involve significant coordination between departments, requiring excellent communication and interpersonal skills. These abilities are essential in logistics, where ensuring smooth information flow and collaboration between teams is vital. Working in logistics demands a broad skill set, from coordination to customer service – areas that might not immediately come to mind when thinking about logistics work.

In 2022, Lehtovuori’s factory underwent a major transformation with the construction of a brand new hall and significant investments in production equipment, painting lines, and the development of the new factory. Lehtovuori is a growing company that offers many opportunities, but growth also brings challenges, requiring employees to be versatile and continuously learn new skills. Fortunately, both Lasse and Petri meet these demands with ease. Lasse feels that his opinions are heard, which increases his job satisfaction. Petri appreciates the variety in his work, which keeps his days interesting and fast-paced.

In the workplace, the most important thing is getting along with colleagues, good team spirit, and enjoying the job – something both Lasse and Petri emphasize. When these elements are in place, it’s enjoyable to come to work and leave at the end of the day. Petri describes Lehtovuori’s work atmosphere as inspiring and full of surprises, making each workday unique.

In his free time, Lasse’s two Finnish Lapphunds keep him busy and bring a lot of joy to his days – and sometimes a bit of trouble too! Petri, on the other hand, finds relaxation at the gym, on hiking trips, and while fishing.
